Progression Pathways to National Tertiary Education Consortium (Ntec)
 
Ntec Tertiary Group (Ntec) is a New Zealand based consortium of five education providers consisting of National Technology Insti- tute (NTI), Concordia Institute of Business (CIB), The College of Future Learning NZ (FutureCOL), National Engineering Institute (NEI) and National Institute of Education (NIE), all New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved and accredited ter- tiaryproviders. The Ntec schools have a proud record of educational excellence and innovation, and this is reflected in their NZQA External Evaluation and Review reports. Concordia Institute of Business, National Technology Institute and the College of Future Learning NZ all have the highest possible rating of "Category One", which means that NZQA is highly confident in their educational performance.
 
 
In 2015 Ntec Tertiary Group signed a scholarship pathway agreement with JAVA Institute and Ntec has agreed to offer pathways and scholarships to selected JAVA Institute graduates.JAVA Institute Higher Diploma (2nd year Degree equivalent) graduates in the Business and IT streams will gain direct entry to the top up final year of the Level 7 Business and IT programmes at Ntec.The Ntec ITqualifications are intended for people with prior qualifications or experience in Information Technology and who wish to ac- quire knowledge and skills to pursue specialised roles within the IT industry or to pursue further studies in the fields of Computing and IT. Software Development and Networking are the two specialisations offered to students. Students at the Auckland campus may be eligible for up to 100 hours paid work experience (in their last term of study)allowing them to gain valuable work experi- ence along with the practical skills developed through the project. Ntec will assist students in negotiating any identified internship opportunities within the IT industry in New Zealand. For those who are interested in additional certification could also complete MTA, MCSE and MCDBA certification from Microsoft (additional exam fee applies for certification exams).

JAVA Institute students enrolling at Ntec for the Level 7 programmes will be eligible to apply for a fixed scholarship as per the scholarship pathway agreement. In addition 3 meritorious students from JAVA Institute will be rewarded with a NZD7000 scholar- ship on the day of the JAVA Institute graduation.

Graduates of JAVA institute are able to join any time of the year and Ntec has made available 7 intakes in the year 2015. It is ex- pected that the first batch of JAVA Institute graduates will begin to take advantage of this new partnership by joining Ntecbusiness & computing programmes in mid-2015.
