Students and researchers from ZNU at Durham Law School
On December 19th 2019, a special delegation from the Birmingham City University visited the Head Office of the Java Institute for Advanced Technology, marking yet another historic milestone in the Java Institute’s journey in its pursuit of excellence in the higher education sector.

The Birmingham City University delegation consisted of, Professor George Squires, Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Digital Technology, Professor Melvyn Lees, Professor Clare Mackie, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Richard Jordan. Director of International Partnerships and Mr. Satish Sharma, International Consultant.

The purpose of this visit was to visit the facilities of the Java Institute as the final stage of the Birmingham City University awarding partnership status to the Java Institute as it recognized and validated the SCQF level 9 qualification as the BSc in (Hons) in Software Engineering and awarded by Birmingham City University, UK.

The Java Institute was representted in this historic moment by Dr. Ishantha Siribaddana, Chairman and Founder of the Java Institute, Mr. Bhatiya Tissera, Managing Director and Managing Director JRIRC, Mr. Lakdimuthu Weerasuriay, AGM Finance and HR, Mr. Romesh Kandiah, Director and Mr. Mevan Wickramasinghe, Head of International Relations & Business Development.

The BCU delegation conducted a centre inspection and audit by speaking to the faculty of the Java Institute and also interviewed students to get a better idea of the student experience as students of the Java Institute.
